Project Integrated Fisheries Park
Location

Tok Bali, Kelantan

Description

This project call for the establishment of an integrated fisheries complex in Tok Bali consisting of:

  1. 400m wharf on the left bank of the Sg. Semerak.
  2. An offshore fishing platform to cater for local and foreign offshore vessels.
  3. An industrial fish processing park immediately adjacent to the landing area.
  4. Commercial, business and logistic support infrastructure.
Project Rationale
  1. The Tok Bali deep sea fishing port in Kelantan is expected to play a pivotal role in the development and sustenance of a major fisheries based industrial cluster in the region.
  2. Catering largely for fishing fleets currently operating in the South China Sea, as well as local marine catch and land-based aquaculture production, the port is expected to serve as a major aggregation point for fish.
  3. Tok Bali should de developed more as a business hub rather than simply a port. This means that elements supporting business and commercial environment should be integral with the overall design and layout of the port and its supporting facilities.
  4. The proposed Tok Bali Integrated Fisheries Park would have both a national and regional dimensions. Commodity traders specializing either in individual niche markets should also be able to source a wider range of produce.
