Benefits
The ECER will further
enhance education opportunities in Malaysia to both Malaysian
and international students. This is important in order to
meet human resource demands of the ECER.
-
Jobs in new
learning institutions
With the creation of four new universities, a knowledge-park
that will support a population of 100,000 and the establishment
of several Centres of Excellence, there are many academic
and teaching posts available in the ECER.
- R&D opportunities
For those who seek R&D opportunities, the conscious
collaboration between academia and industry will be an excellent
platform for new research and new discoveries. R&D grants
will be made available, and results can be immediately applied
to industries. The theory-to-application process is expected
to be more rapid.
- Specialised and Up-to-Date
curriculum
Education institutions in the ECER will update their course
curriculum in tandem with new workplace requirements. Strategic
collaborations between academia and industry are essential
towards lifting up the education sector’s international
image and recognition, so that it may strike more collaboration
with foreign universities and learning institutions.
