Sewerage |
It is proposed that a central sewerage
system be implemented in the major cities of Kota Bharu,
Kuala Terengganu and Kuantan.
Other areas which would require improvements to the sewerage
system are the islands. As these islands are tourist destinations,
keeping the environment pristine and attractive is a major
consideration.
The sewerage proposals for the islands include:

Centralised sewerage
treatment system in Tioman to complement and enhance the
current committed projects.

Improvements to sewerage
systems in Pulau Kapas, Pulau Redang and Pulau Perhentian
to ensure that effluent discharge complies with the required
environmental standards.
