By 2020, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is projected to grow by an average annual rate of 7.2 per cent in the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) with per capita GDP in the region expected to more than double to RM13,510 in 2020, indicating the move toward a more knowledge and technology driven economy.
