Projects in the Property & Construction sector can be further divided into the following sub-sectors:

Sub-sectors
Leisure Property Development • Currently over 11.9 million tourists visit the ECER states annually.
• These numbers are forecasted to grow to 28.8 million tourists by the year 2020.
• Resorts, targeting high end to budget accommodations, will be developed.
Commercial Property Development • An added character in retail scene in the Region makes the retail offerings and retail experience distinctive from other States in Malaysia or other parts in the world.
Residential Property Development • Population in Year 2006 would be approximately four million.
• From the residential stock data from Valuation & Property Services Department (as of Q4 2006), there is only 274,412 residential units in the ECER.
• This implies that a majority of the living quarters in the Region is situated outside the conventional residential housing schemes (e.g. kampong houses/detached houses on agriculture land).
• In business terms, there is huge potential to boost the residential property in the ECER.

Industrial Property Development • There is much opportunity in industrial property development due to major investments in various industries such as manufacturing, agriculture and oil, gas and petrochemical that are expected to grow rapidly.
