Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS)
ECERDC welcomes private investors to lead the development of Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) hubs along the Kertih–Kuantan corridor, positioning the Region as Malaysia’s future centre for carbon management.
Supported by a mature oil and gas ecosystem, existing offshore storage fields, and strong industrial linkages, ECER provides the foundation for large-scale CCUS deployment. Two CCUS hubs are envisioned by 2030 to serve domestic industries and regional markets seeking carbon capture and storage solutions.
Investors have opportunities to develop carbon handling, transportation, and utilisation facilities that serve ECER’s industrial clusters, collaborate with emitters to reduce carbon footprints, and participate in the growing global market for carbon management solutions. ECERDC works closely with government agencies and industry players to enable investments aligned with the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030.
