Shipbuilding and Ship Repair (SBSR)

Pahang is set to be the first state in Malaysia to host a fully integrated maritime industry facility through the development of the Kuantan Maritime Hub (KMH) in Gebeng, scheduled for completion by 2034. The Hub will feature world-class infrastructure for shipbuilding, fabrication and vessel accommodation, creating strong prospects for investors to establish advanced maritime operations and drive regional growth.

In Terengganu, the Boat Building and Repair Industrial (B2RI) Park in Kemaman serves as the state’s SBSR anchor, providing ready facilities for fabrication, marine engineering and shipyard operations for vessels of up to 7,500 tonnes. Together, both locations will strengthen Malaysia’s SBSR ecosystem, positioning ECER as a centre for large-scale shipbuilding, repair and component manufacturing.

Aligned with the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030, ECERDC welcomes investors to take the lead in developing sustainable and technology-driven shipbuilding facilities. Through facilitation, ECERDC supports enabling infrastructure, talent development and industry linkages that will advance Malaysia’s “Design, Source and Build” aspiration and boost the Region’s global competitiveness
