Manufacturing remains a key economic driver in ECER, contributing significantly to private investment and regional growth. Leveraging its resource-rich landscape and greenfield advantages, ECER has evolved into a highly competitive manufacturing destination that supports Malaysia\u2019s industrial transformation under the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030.<\/p>

ECERDC\u2019s manufacturing strategy focuses on strengthening the chemicals, minerals, and automotive subsectors, supported by renewable energy and decarbonisation solutions. Public investments are channelled into infrastructure, utilities, and industrial ecosystems that enable sustainable and high-value manufacturing.<\/p>

The Region\u2019s heavy manufacturing clusters are strategically concentrated within the Kertih Integrated Petrochemical Complex (KIPC), Gebeng Integrated Petrochemical Complex (GIPC), and the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park (MCKIP). These clusters are supported by renewable energy (RE) and carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) solutions to help industries meet sustainability commitments. Their connectivity to Kemaman Port and Kuantan Port strengthens export capabilities and reinforces ECER\u2019s role as a manufacturing and logistics hub on the East Coast.<\/p>
