ECERDC is taking a proactive approach to develop the fisheries industry in the Region, emphasising on value-added activities to further sustain existing fisheries activities and create new opportunities such as fish-based food processing for both local and export markets.
ECERDC is developing the spectrum of upstream and downstream activities in the fisheries value-chain. This will have spillover effects, creating new economic opportunities.

On-going Projects
KUANTAN INTEGRATED FISH PROCESSING PARK (KIFPP)
This is an integrated fisheries hub focusing on value-add processing activities such as frozen whole fish and shrimp, fillet, cut and steak of fishes. The appointed Anchor Company, MHC Coldstorage Sdn Bhd, has surpassed the targeted private investment with RM15.6 million invested in the park to date with a production value of 400 metric tonnes in 2019.
COLLECTION, PROCESSING & PACKAGING CENTRE (CPPC) PENGKALAN KUBOR
This project is a hub for seafood activities, focusing on the production of goods with Halal, GMP and HACCP certification for the export market. It is intended to uplift the quality of Small Medium Enterprise products to comply with food safety regulations of export markets.
Current Opportunities
TOK BALI INTEGRATED FISHERIES PARK (TBIFP)
This project is an integrated fisheries hub focusing on value-add processing activities with accessible marine capture and landing facilities. To date, it has a total approved private investment of RM63.1 million which is expected to create 270 job opportunities. 5 private investors have undertaken downstream activities with 1 company already committed to investing RM10mil which has created 10 new job opportunities and the other 4 expected to finalise investments commitments by year end of 2020. There are still opportunities available here for investors who are interested to plug into a growing fisheries ecosystem.
MERCHONG MARINE FISH HATCHERY AND MARKETING CENTRE (MMFH)
This project focuses on production of disease-free & MyGAP certified shrimp fries and fish seeds with biosecurity facilities. The development of the project will be undertaken by private investors who are expected to be appointed by the end of 2020. There are still opportunities available here for investors who are keen to enter the upstream fisheries industry.
Future Opportunities
ENDAU MERSING FISHERIES PROCESSING (EMFPP)
This project promotes Mersing as a fisheries hub by providing a platform to SMEs to convert low value to high value production of fish products. Construction work commenced in the third quarter of 2020. This project will provide investors with an integrated park for value-added downstream activities.
