In-line with the next leap towards productivity-based and high value-add activities, ECERDC is focusing on attracting investments beyond traditional manufacturing and production to focus on technology products.
There are already existing technology production activities in the Region. For example, discreet electronics, fine-coated copper wires, industrial magnets, automotive electronic components and precision automotive parts.
Moving forward in the pursuit of increasing technology production in the Region, ECERDC will also include renewable energy and medical devices in our efforts to attract more private investments to Pahang Technology Park (PTP).
ACES as The Driver of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) in The Region
ECERDC envisions that ACES will catalyse I4.0 adoption in the Region by creating skilled talents, quality jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities, in line with the national Industry4WRD goals. ACES will be the nucleus for I4.0 development in the ECER and the entire ASEAN, with Malaysia serving as the base, through strategic ‘industry-academia-government’ initiatives and partnerships.
ECERDC is well-prepared to undertake new ways of enabling businesses in the new era. In February 2018, ECERDC partnered with Germany’s TUM International GmbH (TUMInt), a subsidiary of Germany’s top-ranking university Technische Universität München (Technical University of Munich), to establish the MSC-status, Asia Center of Excellence for Smart Technologies (ACES) at the Cybercentre in Pahang Technology Park (PTP).
