Tourism is one of the most important economic drivers in ECER. By year 2025, ECER’s tourism cluster is projected to attract RM15 billion in investments, creating 15,000 job opportunities and 1,400 entrepreneurs among the locals. Traditionally, domestic tourists make up the bulk of visitors to ECER.

To further catalyse the Region’s tourism industry, ECERDC is actively creating destinations to attract more tourist arrivals. The completion of new attractions such as the Kuala Terengganu City Centre Drawbridge and the Kuantan 188 as well as enhancements to existing tourism attractions will attract domestic and international tourists alike and will enable the Region to position itself as a premier global tourist destination.
