Enabler: Renewable Energy
ECER welcomes investors to participate in driving Malaysia’s energy transition through renewable energy (RE), bioenergy, and carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) developments across the Region. With abundant land, strong industrial linkages, and rich natural resources, ECER offers the ideal environment for private players to lead the shift towards a low-carbon and sustainable economy.
Private investment is key to scaling RE generation in ECER’s industrial parks and Renewable Energy Zones, supporting industries in adopting cleaner power sources such as solar and hydrogen. The Region’s extensive palm oil processing capacity also presents opportunities for biomethane production to supplement natural gas supplies for industrial use.

Renewable Energy Zone (RE Zone) for Industries
The Region welcomes investors to develop large-scale solar and hydrogen projects in ECER’s industrial parks, supporting energy-efficient manufacturing and low-carbon growth.

Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS)
Invest in the emerging CCUS hub along the Kertih–Kuantan corridor, offering carbon storage, transport, and utilisation opportunities for industries committed to decarbonisation.

Bioenergy Production
Tap into ECER’s strong palm oil base to produce biomethane as a transitional clean fuel, leveraging existing gas infrastructure to support Malaysia’s energy transition.
ECERDC facilitates this growth by providing the enabling infrastructure, policy coordination, and investment support needed to accelerate the rollout of renewable energy projects. Aligned with the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030, ECERDC continues to position the Region as Malaysia’s low-carbon investment destination.
In addition, the Kertih–Kuantan corridor is being developed as a national hub for CCUS, offering strategic access to carbon storage and handling infrastructure that supports decarbonisation solutions for high-emission industries.
Through these efforts, ECERDC invites private investors to seize opportunities in RE, CCUS, and bioenergy, unlocking the potential of ECER as a leading hub for sustainable industrial growth and clean energy innovation.
