The former Lembaga Kemajuan Pahang Tenggara (DARA) and Lembaga Kemajuan Wilayah Jengka (LKWJ) areas were identified as one of ECER’s seven Key Development Areas (KDA).
Under a Special Fund established by the Federal Government in 2010, ECERDC revitalised the two areas with the objective of making them more conducive places to live. The development of the former DARA and LKWJ areas was also re-modelled to strengthen rural–urban integration in the ECER.
The DARA and LKWJ covered six districts, namely Temerloh, Bera, Maran, Jerantut, Pekan and Rompin. Development implemented across these districts included infrastructure works, upgrading and maintenance of community facilities, preservation of the cultural value of Kampung Tradisi, and the implementation of strategic projects.
