Manager, Business Development (Tourism)

POSITION: MANAGER, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (TOURISM II)
DIVISION: CORPORATE STRATEGIC PLANNING
LOCATION: PUTRAJAYA

Major Responsibilities

  1. Plan, prepare and undertake project feasibility studies and prepare business proposals to support the implementation plan for Tourism economic clusters identified under the ECER Development Plan.
  2. Coordinate and track implementation of approved Business Strategy and Implementation Plan (BSIP).
  3. Prepare the RMK Development Expenditure (DE) annual budget application where required, monitor the utilization and submit monthly report to Senior Manager.
  4. Plan, coordinate, execute where required and monitor the implementation of tourism projects to ensure timely delivery within approved budget, scope, and timeline.
  5. Evaluate and assess tourism-related proposals received from external parties and recommend appropriate actions to Management for decision-making.
  6. Conduct research, compile and provide analysis on economic data from external and internal sources and produce presentations and reports for Management consumption on economic clusters identified for ECER.
  7. Monitor and report policy changes by Federal, State and Local Authorities affecting the tourism sector to Management.
  8. Manage and coordinate various initiatives aligned with the UN SDGs and the Thirteenth Malaysia Plan (13MP) as directed by Pusat SDG Negara.
  9. Liaise and build strong working relationships with Federal and State Governments, Statutory Bodies, Authorities, Agencies, industry players, industry associations and other stakeholders to support project implementation and foster collaboration.
  10. Prepare various presentations and proposals for internal and external consumption.
  11. Carry out any other duties assigned by Management related to tourism development, investment facilitation and regional economic development initiatives.

Position Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor or Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Tourism Management, Hospitality or any other related discipline from a recognised University.
  • Minimum six years of working experience in corporate finance, business or tourism sector, ideally with exposure to project management, strategic planning or investment facilitation.
  • Wide business knowledge across industries.
  • Key competencies required include ability to analyse and apply collected data and information, stakeholder management, multitasking and managing tight deadlines.
  • Familiar with preparation of board and management papers, proposals, tender documents and presentations.
  • Good command of Bahasa Melayu and English.
  • Willing to travel.
