MORE THAN 4,000 JOBS IN MCKIP AVAILABLE AT ALLIANCE STEEL’S TWO-DAY JOB FAIR

KUANTAN, PAHANG, 7 AUGUST 2017: More than 4,000 job opportunities will be up for grabs for local job seekers across the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) at the Alliance Steel (M) Sdn. Bhd.’s (Alliance Steel) Job Fair which will be held from 12 to 13 August 2017 at The Zenith Hotel, Sultan Ahmad Shah International Convention Centre, Kuantan from 9:00am to 6:00pm.

To support Alliance Steel’s operation in the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park (MCKIP), vacancies available include both entry-level and senior level positions requiring various qualifications and skill set, ranging from technical and support positions as well as engineering, supervisory and management positions. Local talents and graduates are encouraged to attend the Job Fair as walk-in interviews will be conducted with immediate job offers for successful candidates. The Job Fair is jointly organised by Alliance Steel in close collaboration with the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC), the Pahang State Government and Jobs Malaysia.

Private investments in the ECER has been a key enabler for the local communities to uplift their livelihood and income levels through greater employment opportunities and entrepreneurial creation,” said YBhg. Datuk Seri Jebasingam Issace John, the Chief Executive Officer of ECERDC.

“The jobs offered by Alliance Steel will provide the local communities in the ECER with the opportunity to build their career with one of the leading global players in the steel industry and benefit from the training programmes the company has in place to enhance their skills and qualification. This certainly supports our goal to build and leverage on ECER’s strong talent pool as key drivers of the Region’s growth, in accordance with the Government’s aim to make Malaysia a high-income nation by year 2020,” he added.

Alliance Steel, which remains as one of ECER’s largest investors in MCKIP in Kuantan, Pahang, has committed to invest RM5.6 billion to build a modern integrated steel mill with a production capacity of 3.5 million tonnes. The facility is expected to be operational in stages by the end of 2017, and fully operational in June 2018.

Among some of the benefits for employees at Alliance Steel include EPF and SOCSO contributions, medical benefits, meal allowance and staff accommodation which will be fully-equipped with recreational facilities such as badminton hall, basketball courts, football field, gym, as well as an in-house clinic and mini markets at the site. Transportation allowance will be offered to employees who stay more than 30km away from the workplace.
