KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 25 (Bernama) — The East Coast Economic Region (ECER) will host the world’s
largest stem cell manufacturing facility when US-based Bio-Cellular Research Organisation (BCRO)
sets up its operations.
In a statement here today, the ECER secretariat said the deal would be formalised in a memorandum
of understanding to be signed between Pahang Technology Resources Sdn Bhd and BCRO Stem Cell
Xenotransplantation Sdn Bhd on Jan 28 which would be witnessed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri
Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
It said with the establishment of BCRO’s facility in Malaysia, the cost of stem cell treatments would
become more affordable to Malaysians.
