“Kids Camp” under the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) will enhance the self-management skills, creative thinking and communication skills of children from the Agropolitan projects.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC), Dato’ Jebasingam Issace John, this two-day camp is one of the initiatives under the Agropolitan projects which targets to train the children from hardcore poor families.
“70 children from Pekan and another 25 children from Gua Musang, Kelantan are gathering at Sekolah Kebangsaan Runchang, Pekan to promote academic excellence.”
The statement was made during the opening ceremony of the “Kids Camp” which is jointly organized by ECERDC and Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK).
He said ECERDC adjusts living conditions of hardcore poor families via various projects including the launching of various agriculture plans for the participation of hardcore households to increase their household income.
“Apart from providing sustainable source of income to the hardcore households, children from hardcore families are trained to become self-reliant and competitive intellectuals via education.”
