The 11th edition of the Asia-Pacific Chinese Entrepreneurial Leaders Forum (APCE 2011) will be held from February 19 (Saturday) to 21st at the Palace Of The Golden Horses Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
More than 100 Chinese tycoons from abroad have confirmed their participation in the event. They will also take the opportunity to find out about the economic corridors in Malaysia and the move is expected to bring about enormous business opportunities to local companies.
According to the initiator and president of APCE Dr. Lawrence Yu, more than 20 billionaires will grace the event. They include the president of Hong Kong Tongao Group Investment Co. Ltd Zhong Baojia, president of Sampo Group Chen Yaozhang, president of HongKong JeFeng Group Yao Zheng, as well as GuanSheng Group Corporation director Lan Chuhan. Prominent local entrepreneurs who have confirmed their attendance are IOI Group chairman Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng and Top Glove chairman Tan Sri Lim Wee Chai.
Lawrence told a press conference today that some 50 corporate heavyweights, including the names mentioned above, will visit the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) and conduct studies on the economic region.
He added, the organizing unit will lead the delegation to the ECER on February 20 to discuss about collaboration deals. Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob will hold a reception for these corporate tycoons.
“Apart from that, the organizer will arrange a meeting between Lim Soon Kam – who holds key position in Iskandar Malaysia – and the delegation to further enable idea exchange.”
Lawrence said, Ng Lip Yong, the former Minister of International Trade and Industry, will give talks on “Investment In Malaysia: Opportunities and Prospects” and “Low-carbon Era: The Responsibilities, Opportunities and Challenges of Chinese Leaders.”
The event will see the giving out of recognition awards, namely the Most Creative Chinese Entrepreneurial Leaders of Asia Pacific 2010, Asia-Pacific Chinese Entrepreneurial Leaders with the Strongest Social Responsibility 2010, as well as the Asia-Pacific Chinese Entrepreneurial Leadership for Low-carbon Emission 2010.
