In 2012, Kaneka Corporation of Japan via its Malaysian subsidiary, Kaneka (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, became the first foreign investor in ECER to participate in ETEP by taking in selected engineering graduates for on-the-job training at its manufacturing facility. This move has benefitted many young Malaysian in ECER, including Noor Faiz Faisal Bin Nor Zulfefli, who was unemployed for a few months after graduation. Upon completion of the programme, he is now employed as a full-time Process Technician at the company, where he is able to develop his career and earn a stable income.
