Senior Executive, Media Relations

POSITION : SENIOR EXECUTIVE, MEDIA RELATIONS
DIVISION : CORPORATE AFFAIRS
LOCATION : PUTRAJAYA

Major Responsibilities

  1. Media Management
    • Draft and review of all media materials, including press releases, speeches, talking points and fact sheets to ensure message consistency, accuracy and alignment with organizational messaging
    • Support the planning and execution of media engagements such as press conferences, media briefings, interviews and other media-facing engagements under the guidance of the Manager, Media Relations
    • Coordinate media outreach and engagement, including preparation of media lists, issuance of invitations and management of attendance for media-facing activities
    • Coordinate and manage media-related deliverables, including engagement with appointed vendors (if applicable), to ensure alignment, quality and timely delivery

  2. Content Development
    • Collaborate with division and cluster heads to source, verify and consolidate project information, data and highlights for use in media materials and corporate publications
    • Support the end-to-end development of the Annual Report, including editorial planning, content development, proofreading, layout review and visual selection, in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors
    • Provide editorial support and ensure content quality for corporate collaterals such as brochures, panels, print ads and other publications developed by the Creative and Digital Media unit

  3. Media Monitoring
    • Oversee daily media monitoring on ECERDC, the East Coast Region, and relevant industry and related developments to ensure accuracy, relevance and strategic insight
    • Monitor media sentiment and highlight key news items for management attention based on reports provided by the media monitoring systems
    • Prepare media analysis reports and summaries to inform strategic communications planning

  4. Digital and Social Media Content Support
    • Assist the Creative and Digital Media unit in reviewing and refining written content for ECERDC’s website, staff portal, newsletters and microsites
    • Provide editorial input and messaging suggestions for ECERDC’s social media content, particularly for posts involving media coverage, official announcements and strategic messaging
    • Prepare written content for digital publishing, including investment stories, project milestones and success stories

  5. Others
    • Assist the Creative and Digital Media unit in preparing scripts and suggested interview questions for multimedia content including participant testimonies, project stories and other ECERDC initiatives
    • Coordinate and monitor deliverables from appointed vendors (if applicable) to ensure quality, consistency and adherence to timelines
    • Maintain and update ECERDC’s media contact database
    • Support internal reporting for the Media Relations unit including PR value tracking, media engagement records and monthly reporting inputs
    • Assist in preparation of Management Papers, quotation plans and procurement documentation related to the unit’s deliverables
    • Ensure compliance with internal governance processes and procurement procedures in managing vendors (if applicable)
    • Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the Manager or Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs

Position Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, preferably in Public Relations and Journalism or any other related discipline from a recognised University
  • Minimum five (5) years of working experience in copywriting, corporate communications and public relations, preferably within a corporate or agency environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in Bahasa Melayu & English
  • Strong editorial judgement, attention to detail and ability to translate technical information into clear, compelling narratives
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with media, vendors and internal stakeholders
