Terengganu

Terengganu’s economy has long been anchored by its strong oil, gas, and petrochemical base, supported by established industrial zones such as Kertih Biopolymer Park and Kemaman Heavy Industrial Park. Over the past decade, the state has continued to grow steadily, with expanding activities in manufacturing, tourism, logistics, and upstream agriculture.

Looking ahead, Terengganu’s economic growth is expected to accelerate as the state strengthens its role in energy transition, downstream processing, and tourism-driven services. By 2030, the state’s GDP is projected to increase from RM38 billion to RM64 billion, driven by rising demand for logistics, tourism, agrifood production, and new growth areas within its industrial ecosystem.
