Seamless Connectivity
The Region’s strong transport linkages between ECER’s Key Development Areas via land, air and sea enhance connectivity across the Region and Peninsular Malaysia, and provide a faster, more direct route to ASEAN and other Asia-Pacific countries.
Strategic Infrastructure Development To Catalyse Growth
ECER offers seamless connectivity through an integrated network of highways, railways, seaports and airports, positioning the Region as a strategic trade and investment gateway to the Asia Pacific. The East Coast Rail Link (ECRL), scheduled for full completion by 2027, will connect Kota Bharu to Port Klang, linking the East and West coasts through a modern rail system that reduces freight travel time by half and strengthens ECER’s role as Malaysia’s land bridge for interregional trade.
Complemented by Kuantan Port’s deep-water facilities, Kerteh Port’s specialised energy logistics and Kemaman Supply Base’s offshore capabilities, ECER provides multimodal access that supports efficient export-import movement for manufacturing and resource-based industries. Major highways such as the East Coast Expressway (LPT) and upgraded federal routes further enhance land connectivity across key industrial parks and urban centres.
Air connectivity through Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Bharu and Johor Bahru airports facilitates passenger travel and high-value cargo, reinforcing ECER’s position as a well-linked investment destination. Together, these developments form a comprehensive logistics ecosystem designed to enable faster, greener and more cost-effective trade flows.
LAND, AIR AND SEA CONNECTIONS
Hight-impact infrastructure projects ensure that investors in ECER are well-connected within the country and beyond.
UTILITIES
High quality utility services such as electricity and water supply support the growth of ECER’s manufacturing cluster. This includes high-speed broadband coverage in order to accelerate the adoption of the digital economy and industry 4.0.
