Agropolitan

The Agropolitan project is a poverty eradication programme that provides participants with the opportunity to participate in agriculture-based activities, such as Dorper sheep rearing and oil palm plantation. Participants, originally the hardcore poor, are provided fully-furnished homes that come with community amenities such as surau, community hall and shop lots. In addition, the communities are also provided with kindergarten, playgrounds and futsal courts.

Family members of Agropolitan participants are also encouraged to participate in secondary economic activities such as small-scale farming and small businesses such as catering and baked goods. This project has had life-changing impact on participants, particularly in the B40 and Orang Asli groups who now enjoy a regular income stream.

Agropolitan Projects have been implemented in 5 selected locations.
