Abdullah Arrives For Day-long Visit To Terengganu

KUALA TERENGGANU, June 14 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad
Badawi arrived here today for a one-day visit to Terengganu.
The Prime Minister, accompanied by his wife, Datin Seri Jeanne Abdullah, arrived at the
Sultan Mahmud Airport (LTSM) about 9.55am.
They were greeted on arrival by Menteri Besar Terengganu, Datuk Ahmad Said, Information
Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek and members of the State Executive Council.
Abdullah then proceeded to Universiti Malaysia Terengganu to launch the East Coast
Economic Region (ECER) Development Council.
In conjunction with the launch of the council, a one-stop centre will be set up to ensure the
smooth implementation and development of projects identified in the ECER master plan.
Later, Abdullah will meet with Umno leaders in the state at the Hotel Primula Beach Resort.
The Prime Minister will also attend a luncheon with the Umno leaders and senior government
officials, while in the afternoon, Abdullah is scheduled to launch the Rice Bowl at Mat Jintan,
Setiu.
After the function, the Prime Minister is scheduled to leave for Kuching, Sarawak to attend
the Gawai Dayak Open House 2008.
