Malaysia has planned its first plastics park -Kertih Plastics Park (KPP),
to be built under the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) master plan
in Terengganu.
The park will be home to plastics and plastics-related industries and is
projected to attract investments to the tune of RM1.3 bln from the
private sector. The location of the park will offer the advantage of
existing infrastructure such as Kertih Port and the proximity to
petrochemical feedstock at the Kertih Integrated Petrochemical
Complex.
The KPP is specifically designed to capture more resource-based value
domestically via downstream integration of polymer and related plants
within the existing Kertih petrochemical complex.
