Related state-wide projects will be monitored effectively with the setting up of the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) Development Council office in Sri Kuantan Square, Jalan Teluk Sisek here.
”The opening of this office plays a very important role in Pahang’s development,” said the council’s chief executive officer Datuk Jebasingam Issac John.
”It is proof that the central government is really committed in helping to carry forward the ECER projects, as well as bringing in development to Pahang,” he added.
Jebasingam said one of the main roles of the state’s office was to monitor future ECER projects and those in progress for the state.
He said as ECER’s automotive assembly, production and distributing hub, many job and business opportunities would be created for the locals.
”In fact, with the support of the state education institutes, the locals are able to get more than a good paycheck.
”Pahang also has a huge potential to expand as a tourism sector,” he said, adding that Pahang had amazing natural resources, including the highland holiday resorts and Taman Negara, which could be further developed and promoted to visitors.
”Hopefully, the existence of this office would be useful in simplifying the process for future investors and existing companies in collecting information about ECER’s projects,” he said.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob was present to launch the office recently.
