BANDAR PERMAISURI, Oct 4 (Bernama) — Felda will formulate a development master plan for
its plantation and settlement areas in the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia to take advantage
of the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) development push that will be launched soon.
Felda chairman Tan Sri Dr Yusof Nor said the document would serve as a guideline to ensure
that Felda-owned land would not be marginalised in the implementation of ECER.
“Felda areas can be a catalyst for growth in agriculture-related fields such as the oil palm
industry and livestock breeding,” he told reporters here today.
Dr Yusof also said that Felda settlers who wished to renovate their houses could obtain loans
of up to RM100,000 from a special fund. The repayment period is 20 years.
