KUANTAN: Gambang Halal Park is off to a good start with eight companies
committing to invest in phase one of the East Coast Economic Region’s Halal
Complex. The factories are scheduled to begin operations by early August 2009.
Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Pahang (PKNP) industry manager Ahmad Sabri Hussin
said the companies were involved in herbs, food and biscuit processing.
“The eight companies will establish their factories by June 2009 and plan to begin
production in August,” he said in a statement.
The 20-acre Halal Complex is implemented by PKNP and forms part of the 115-acre
Gambang Halal hub. Prima Agri-Products Sdn Bhd owns and manages the other park,
Prima Halal Food Park.
The Government has allocated RM11mil for the first phase development of the Halal
Complex.
